History
Southwest Airlines' headquarters and largest base. The 1979 Wright Amendment restricted Love Field flights to Texas and adjacent states for over thirty years to protect the then-new DFW; the restrictions were progressively repealed and finally lifted in October 2014, after which Southwest dramatically expanded long-haul service from Love. Operating gates remain capped at 20 by federal statute (the 2006 Wright Amendment Reform Act).

About this profile
Reference data (codes, coordinates, elevation, runways, owner, opening date) is curated from each airport's official authority page, the FAA's airport reference system for US airports, NAV CANADA and Transport Canada for Canadian airports, and AFAC and the operating concessionaire for Mexican airports. Latest passenger figures are CY 2023 totals where confidently sourced.
Live METAR and TAF are fetched from NOAA's Aviation Weather Center on each page load. NOTAMs (US airports) are fetched from the FAA NOTAM Search. If a source is unreachable when this page loads, the corresponding section displays an "unavailable" message rather than a blank or stale value.
This data is re-verified on a recurring monthly cadence aligned to the FAA's NASR 28-day cycle.
