1. Acceptance
Using Mungomash means accepting these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. What the site provides
Mungomash is a static informational and utility website. It provides live tools (browser-context utilities like /tools/browser/; internet lookups like /tools/ip/, /tools/dns/, and /tools/asn/; and current-conditions services like /tools/weather/ and /tools/time/), data references (version histories, lawsuit case lists, leadership timelines, federal-spending and labor data), and per-page explainers covering each.
The site does not provide professional advice — legal, financial, medical, or otherwise. It is a reference, not a consultation.
3. No warranties
The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes (but is not limited to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency, and non-infringement.
Data shown on /data/ pages reflects the underlying public datasets as fetched at build time. Live tools reflect their data sources at the moment of the request. Mungomash makes no guarantee that any number, fact, or status shown is correct, current, or sufficient for your use case. Do not rely on the site as the sole source for high-stakes decisions — don't fly a plane based on /tools/weather/, don't make legal decisions based on /data/cve/, and don't set an H-1B salary based on /data/h1b/ without verifying against the original DOL disclosure data.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mungomash LLC, its members, and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, regardless of the legal theory and even if Mungomash has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, Mungomash's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
5. Acceptable use
You are welcome to use the site as it was meant to be used: load pages in a browser, use the live tools at human-paced rates, link to and reference the content. You must not:
- Run aggressive scraping, crawling, or load-testing against the site or against the third-party APIs that the tools call. The acceptable rate is the rate a human would generate.
- Use the site as a proxy to circumvent any third party's terms of service — for example, scraping a rate-limited API by routing requests through a Mungomash tool page.
- Reverse-engineer the site's build-time data pipelines to redistribute the underlying datasets in ways that would violate the upstream license.
- Frame the site, scrape its content, or republish its content without the attribution required in section 6.
- Use the site in any way that would violate applicable law, infringe a third party's rights, or interfere with another visitor's use of the site.
6. Intellectual property and content licensing
Original content
The writing, page designs, per-page explainers, illustrations, and original code on Mungomash are © Mungomash LLC. They are licensed for reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. You may copy, share, and adapt them — including for commercial purposes — as long as you give attribution to Mungomash and link back to the source page. You may not imply that Mungomash endorses you or your use.
Public-domain data
Where Mungomash surfaces US federal data, National Weather Service data, public Certificate Transparency logs, RDAP responses, and other public-domain datasets, those datasets are not subject to copyright and Mungomash makes no claim over them. They are listed alongside the relevant pages in the Privacy Policy's third-party-API table.
Where the site has done substantial filtering, normalization, or curation — for example, the metro-area aggregation on /jobs/dev-wages/, or the case-row distillation on /ai/claude/lawsuits/ — the curated representation is © Mungomash even when the underlying data is public, and is licensed under the same CC BY 4.0 terms as the original content.
Trademarks
"Mungomash" and the Mungomash mark are trademarks of Mungomash LLC. The CC BY 4.0 license on the content does not grant trademark rights. Third-party names, logos, and marks referenced on the site (Apple, Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, and so on) are the property of their respective owners and are used here for identification purposes only.
7. Third-party services
Several pages call third-party APIs at runtime — see section 2 of the Privacy Policy for the full list, with provider, what is sent, and what comes back. Those third parties have their own terms of service and privacy policies that govern your interaction with them.
Mungomash is not responsible for the third-party services' content, availability, accuracy, or behavior, and is not liable for any harm arising from your use of those services through the site.
8. No advertising — yet
Mungomash does not currently display third-party advertising. When ad-supported content is added, these terms will be updated to disclose the relevant ad-network terms and any additional acceptable-use rules that apply. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is the way to confirm when ads are in scope.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes — new acceptable-use restrictions, advertising rules, governing-law changes — trigger a date bump. Minor wording changes also bump the date so the field stays accurate. Continued use of the site after a revision means accepting the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Marion County, Indiana, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
