How coverage is decided

Coverage follows each board’s commute shed, not the state line. Northwest Indiana — Gary, Hammond, Merrillville, Valparaiso — commutes toward Chicago, so those counties are served by the Chicago board. Southern Indiana across the Ohio — Jeffersonville, Clarksville, New Albany — sits inside Louisville’s shed. The southeast corner around Lawrenceburg belongs to Cincinnati’s. Those are real coverage, not gaps; the map shades them in their own colour so you can find your board even when it’s filed under a neighbouring state. A county drawn in the palest shade genuinely has no board reaching it yet.

Two things about the count. It deduplicates: a role that routes to two boards is one job, counted once, so this total is smaller than adding the boards together would suggest. And it includes the postings the out-of-state boards carry inside Indiana counties, so it runs a little ahead of the Indiana figure on the Jobs hub, which counts only the boards filed here. Remote roles carry no location at all, so they sit in the dashboard but never on the map.
