History
Opened November 1962, designed by Eero Saarinen with a hyperbolic catenary roofline that became one of the most recognized airport silhouettes in the country. Named for John Foster Dulles, Eisenhower's Secretary of State. United's primary east-coast international hub. The Silver Line Metro extension reached Dulles in November 2022, ending the airport's longstanding rail-disconnected status.
