History

Opened 1928 as Drew Field; the modern terminal complex (1971) pioneered the airside-satellite model now seen at many large US airports β€” the central landside terminal connects to four airside concourses by automated people-movers, a layout other airports later copied.

About this profile

Reference data (codes, coordinates, elevation, runways, owner, opening date) is curated from each airport's official authority page, the FAA's airport reference system for US airports, NAV CANADA and Transport Canada for Canadian airports, and AFAC and the operating concessionaire for Mexican airports. Latest passenger figures are CY 2023 totals where confidently sourced.

Live METAR and TAF are fetched from NOAA's Aviation Weather Center on each page load. NOTAMs (US airports) are fetched from the FAA NOTAM Search. If a source is unreachable when this page loads, the corresponding section displays an "unavailable" message rather than a blank or stale value.

This data is re-verified on a recurring monthly cadence aligned to the FAA's NASR 28-day cycle.
