History
Mexico's busiest airport for international passengers and the gateway to the Riviera Maya tourism corridor. Opened 1974 alongside the planned development of Cancún itself; operated by ASUR (NYSE: ASR) under a long-term federal concession. The airport handles more US-origin tourist traffic than any other Mexican airport and is one of the busiest US-international destinations from many midsize US airports.
