Classified contracts are not in USAspending.gov, so this number is a known undercount. The methodology section at the bottom of the page expands on what's missing.

Annual prime-contract obligations to Palantir

Federal fiscal years run October 1 through September 30. The current fiscal year is in progress — partial-year totals are flagged with an asterisk.

Top contracts in the selected FY

Largest individual prime-contract awards in the selected fiscal year. Click any row for the canonical USAspending.gov award page with the full modification history and obligation timeline. The named-program label above each official description is hand-curated from primary sources (DoD press releases, agency contract notifications, GAO filings) where the program name is publicly documented.

Contract / Program Obligated

Per-agency and per-product splits

Top-level agencies (FY total)

Sub-agencies — the DoD & DHS breakdown

The Army / Air Force / Navy split inside DoD, the ICE / CBP / TSA split inside DHS, and the IRS line inside Treasury are usually the most informative cuts.

What Palantir is being paid for — Product & Service Codes

Federal Product & Service Codes (PSCs) classify what an agency bought. Palantir contracts cluster heavily in IT and telecom service codes (DA10 SaaS, 7A21 perpetual-license software, DA01 application development support) plus defense R&D codes (AC35) for the Army / Air Force programs.

Methodology — what's in this number, what isn't, and how to audit it

Source. Every number on this page is fetched live from the public USAspending.gov API on every page load — no build-step snapshot, no pre-fetched JSON, no cached value. USAspending publishes the federal procurement record under a public-domain license, mandated by the DATA Act. The page restricts the query to prime-contract award type codes (A, B, C, D — BPA Calls, Purchase Orders, Delivery Orders, and Definitive Contracts), excluding grants, cooperative agreements, loans, and direct payments.

Vendor-alias map. USAspending separates Palantir into multiple recipient entities. The page sums across the alias map below; if Palantir adds a new federal-contracting entity, this list is the place to extend it.

# /search/spending_by_category/recipient/ filters.recipient_search_text
recipient_search_text: [
"PALANTIR USG", # resolves to PALANTIR USG INC
"PALANTIR TECHNOLOGIES" # resolves to PALANTIR TECHNOLOGIES INC.
]
award_type_codes: ["A", "B", "C", "D"] # prime contracts only

Classified contracts are not here. Black-budget and otherwise-classified contracts do not appear in USAspending. Public reporting suggests Palantir holds a non-trivial classified portfolio inside the intelligence community; the dollar value is not public, so the page does not estimate it. The headline counter and the trend chart are the public number; treat them as a known undercount of total federal spend with Palantir.

Subawards / flow-through are not here. If Palantir is a subcontractor on a prime's award (Carahsoft as the GSA reseller, or a systems integrator as the prime), USAspending records the dollars under the prime's recipient entity, not under Palantir's. USAspending's separate subaward dataset is noisy and incomplete; it is not joined into this page. Visitors who want a pure vendor-revenue cross-check should compare against the government-segment line on Palantir's 10-K Financials.

Foreign-government contracts are not here. US federal customers only. Palantir's UK NHS, Israel MoD, Ukraine MoD, and other foreign-government contracts will live on a future /orgs/palantir/customers/ page.

Named-program labels. The "Top contracts" table carries a named-program pill (e.g., MAVEN SMART SYSTEM or ICE INVESTIGATIVE CASE MANAGEMENT) above each award's official description, where the program name is publicly documented in a primary source (DoD press release, agency contract-award notification, GAO filing). The lookup is conservative — awards without a publicly-documented program name keep the boilerplate USAspending description and skip the pill.

Cross-reference for the company-side view. The Palantir Financials page shows the government / commercial revenue split as Palantir reports it in its 10-K. The annual government-segment line on that page should triangulate (within a meaningful margin) with the FY total here — the differences are explained by classified contracts, foreign-government contracts, timing (revenue recognition vs. obligation), and subaward flow-through.
