How it went

Madrid's first NFL game was a slow one — 6–6 at the half on four field goals — and ended the way slow games do, with Riley Patterson's 29-yarder in overtime. Washington led 13–6 after Deebo Samuel's 20-yard catch, and Ollie Gordon II's one-yard run tied it with 12:36 to go; nobody scored again in regulation. Marcus Mariota threw an interception, the Commanders turned it over twice, and Miami's zero giveaways covered for an offense that gained 311 yards. De'Von Achane ran for 120 of them. Attendance at the Bernabéu, 78,610; the seventh and last game abroad, and the only one decided by a kick in overtime.
