At this Stage

Seven titles and a decade of history said Djokovic; the draw said this was the round's marquee tie. It wasn't close. After a wobble against Wu Yibing in the opener — a dropped second set, quickly forgotten — Djokovic dismantled Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 6-4 6-2, giving the Greek nothing to work with on the surface where the Serb's return and movement travel best. Tsitsipas, so often undone by exactly this kind of relentless, error-free grass tennis, exits with fresh questions about his ceiling at the majors. Djokovic marches on to a last-32 meeting with Arthur Rinderknech, still looking every bit the man to beat — and still, at this stage, playing well within himself.
