Polmans and Hunter own the result of the round in this draw — a takedown of the No. 1 seeds Vavassori and Errani — and in Hunter they have a former doubles world No. 1 who reads a mixed court as well as anyone left. Pavić and Stollár have been steadier than spectacular, edging two tie-break-heavy matches including a win over the No. 6 seeds.
