My pick: Dabrowski / Stefani to advance · locked 2026-07-10 20:00 UTC

Prediction

Dabrowski and Stefani, narrowly. The No. 2 seeds are the last high seed standing and the cleanest team in the draw — four rounds, no sets lost, a serve-and-return efficiency that made the semi-final look routine. Guo and Mladenovic have the tournament's best win in their pocket and, in Mladenovic, a Grand Slam doubles champion whose calm decides tight matches; they are dangerous and battle-tested. But Dabrowski and Stefani have simply had more margin than anyone else here, and Dabrowski's big-stage pedigree matches Mladenovic's. I lean to the seeds, with the caveat that a final against the pair that already beat the best team in the event is no formality.

The case for Dabrowski / Stefani

56% to win

Dabrowski and Stefani are the No. 2 seeds and the only team yet to drop a set, through four rounds on a serve-and-return efficiency that made the semi-final a formality. Dabrowski's big-stage doubles pedigree runs as deep as anyone's left, and a pair with that much margin, playing this cleanly, is the rightful favourite in a final.

The case for Guo / Mladenovic

44% to win

Guo and Mladenovic beat the No. 1 seeds Siniaková and Townsend to reach this final, and in Mladenovic they have a multiple Grand Slam doubles champion whose temperament has decided finals before. They have proved they can win the biggest points against the best pair in the draw — nobody left has a bigger scalp — and a hot returning day can undo any team.

Both cases written 2026-07-10, before the first ball — frozen into the record exactly as written, whatever the result. The percentages are mine, quoted to a decimal because false precision is funnier — and tennis has no draw to hide the rounding in.

At this Stage

The highest seeds left against the giant-killers, for the title. Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani, the No. 2 seeds, are into the final without dropping a set all fortnight — the most efficient team in the draw — after a clean 7-5 6-3 win over Aoyama and Liang. Guo Hanyu and Kristina Mladenovic, the No. 10 seeds, arrive off the run of the event in this half: an ambush of the top seeds Siniaková and Townsend, then a 7-6(5) 6-4 semi-final over Jiang and Xu. It is order and pedigree against the pair that has already toppled the best team here. A first Wimbledon women's doubles title is guaranteed to a new champion pairing, Sunday on Centre Court, with Mladenovic the one former Grand Slam doubles champion on court.
