ColombiavsPortugal

Saturday, June 27, 2026 · 7:30 p.m. ET · Miami Stadium (Hard Rock Stadium), Miami Gardens, FL

Watch: FOX · Telemundo

My pick: Draw · locked 2026-06-26 11:50 UTC

Prediction

Honours even between two qualified sides. Colombia (six points) have already reached the last 32 and lead Group K, while Portugal (four) are all but through and need a win to take top spot. With both teams largely safe, the incentive to overcommit is limited, and a controlled game could finish level. Portugal carry more firepower through Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael Leão, but Colombia have been excellent and stingy, with James Rodríguez orchestrating and Luis Díaz a threat. I'll call a draw that suits Colombia. 1-1.

The case for Colombia

32% to win

Colombia have been one of the group stage's best teams, unbeaten with the meanest of defences and James Rodríguez conducting in front of a near-home crowd in Miami. Néstor Lorenzo's side can win the group outright with a positive result, and the pace of Luis Díaz and the poise of James give them the tools to beat even a strong Portugal.

The case for Portugal

28% to win

Portugal have the firepower to take top spot, with Cristiano Ronaldo chasing more history, Bruno Fernandes pulling strings and Rafael Leão stretching defences. Roberto Martínez's side know a win wins the group and the kinder side of the bracket, and their attacking depth should carry a real threat against Colombia.

Both cases written 2026-06-26, before kickoff — they freeze into the record exactly as written, however the match goes. The percentages are mine, quoted to a decimal because false precision is funnier — the unclaimed 40% belongs to the draw.
