Daily-flight figures are approximate, sourced from public airport / airline disclosures. Comprehensive per-carrier volume data lives in the US DOT BTS T-100 segment dataset and is a planned upgrade.
Live conditions
METAR / TAF from NOAA Aviation Weather Center · NOTAMs from FAA NOTAM Search. Live data refreshed on each page load.
History
Opened February 1995, replacing the older Stapleton International. The largest airport in the Western Hemisphere by land area (over 33,000 acres). Runway 16R/34L is the longest commercial runway in North America at 16,000 ft, sized to handle full-load takeoffs at the airport's mile-high elevation. The peaked tensile-fabric terminal roof evokes the Rocky Mountain peaks west of the field.
More about this airport
About this profile
Reference data (codes, coordinates, elevation, runways, owner, opening date) is curated from each airport's official authority page, the FAA's airport reference system for US airports, NAV CANADA and Transport Canada for Canadian airports, and AFAC and the operating concessionaire for Mexican airports. Latest passenger figures are CY 2023 totals where confidently sourced.
Live METAR and TAF are fetched from NOAA's Aviation Weather Center on each page load. NOTAMs (US airports) are fetched from the FAA NOTAM Search. If a source is unreachable when this page loads, the corresponding section displays an "unavailable" message rather than a blank or stale value.
This data is re-verified on a recurring monthly cadence aligned to the FAA's NASR 28-day cycle.
