History
Opened in 1942 as Alamo Field; renamed McCarran International in 1948 for US Senator Pat McCarran, then renamed Harry Reid International in December 2021 for the long-serving Senate Majority Leader. Southwest's largest base. Famous for the slot machines on the concourses; the on-airport gaming revenue is itself a substantial line item in the airport's budget.
