Erling Haaland struck six minutes from time to send Norway into the last 16 at Côte d'Ivoire's expense, a 2-1 win in Norway's first-ever World Cup knockout tie. Antonio Nusa curled the Vikings ahead just before half-time from Martin Ødegaard's pass; Amad Diallo levelled with 16 minutes left, finishing Nicolas Pépé's cross; but Patrick Berg's low ball let Haaland side-foot the winner. Côte d'Ivoire, in the knockout stage for the first time in their history, dominated territory and corners without finding a second, and Ørjan Nyland's three saves preserved Norway's lead.
